If you are looking at this site, you or a loved one is having a very bad day. You have either been hurt by no fault of your own or been arrested and have a million questions. Before you choose an attorney, it is good to know their experience, but also what motivates them. Why did they become an attorney to begin with? For what it is worth, I will explain my journey.
I am born and raised in South Louisiana. My parents still live in Ascension Parish. I went to LSU for undergrad (political science major) and the LSU Law Center for law school. Most who knew me probably always assumed I would go to law school. I do not come from a family of lawyers, but I did love to argue with anyone about anything at any time.
While running a non-profit program in New Orleans from 2005 to 2008, I had applied to both law school and graduate school. I was accepted into both. Graduate school was overseas and would have led to a career I always dreamed of, so I thought. Law school felt like the safe choice.
Ultimately, I chose law school for several reasons. First, as the cliché goes, I met a girl. I wanted to see where the new relationship would lead. Luckily, for me, it lead to marriage and a very cute son.
Second, I had family members and friends who had been both victims of crimes and accused of crimes. I also had a close relative who died as result of exposure on the job to dangerous chemicals.
Each one of these incidents left me feeling powerless. I did not know what to do or how to help my loved one. I did, however, know the solution to each problem was a legal one.
Thus, I chose law school to ensure that if another incident happened where someone was injured or died because of the negligence of another person, I would have answers and solutions. I chose law school because I wanted to know what to do if someone was arrested for charges they did not commit.
You may be feeling that same sense of powerlessness right now. You want answers. Luckily, for you, you do not need to go to law school to get those answers. You need to find an attorney whose mission it is to treat your case like it is their own family member’s case.
That is my commitment to every client. I will treat your case like I would a family member’s. Call today: (337) 366-8994.
